Upgraded one of my Iphones the other day and last night thought I'd drop the latest speedcam ov2 files in there using DiskAid.
Looks like Apple have changed the permissions in the apps area and you can no longer put your own POI's in there -- unless someone has a workaround?
Just renewed my subscription and now can't use any of the downloaded POI's !! _________________ Cheers,

Complain to Apple as the iOS6 is a downgrade as far as I am concerned.
If you still want speed camera warnings simply install the CamerAlert app from this site and link your PGPSW account to it, run the app in the background and you will still get audio warnings of the speed cameras - Mike |

Have to agree that I'm not impressed with iOS6:)
I have the camera alert already on the phone but didn't realise it would run in the background and still work !! _________________ Cheers,

Tried the CameraAlert app but running in the background on my iPhone 3GS
I got nothing when passing a camera? Am I doing something wrong? The TomTom app works when in background. _________________ Cheers,

The 3GS is a bit underpowered to be honest. Here are a few things to try:
1) force close ALL apps (double tap home, press and hold app icon, tap the (-) on each icon until all of them are cleared)
2) open up CamerAlert and nothing else
3) tap the home button and go for a drive with ONLY CamerAlert running in the background and nothing in the foreground
4) see if you get alerts
I suspect you will and I think the issue will be that TomTom is too memory intensive on the 3GS and that's causing iOS to kill off CamerAlert in the background as background tasks are seen as 'less important'

Try using iExplorer http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/
Worked for me on a 3GS running iOS 6.0 _________________ iPhone 5, iOS 6.01 TomTom with speed cameras |

Are you jailbroken though? I've a iPhone 4 on 6.0.1 and used to use diskaid which is still locked out. Downloaded the demo of iExplorer and I get a program exception error whenever I try and copy to the folder for the POIs, which makes me think it is still locked out. _________________ Samsung S22 Android, Google Maps & Camera Alert |

I think Custom POIs are coming back to the iPhone App officially, trouble is will be in future releases. I quote
http://discussions.tomtom.com/t5/TomTom-App-for-iPhone-iPad/Poi-s-in-TomTom-iPhone-ios-6-TomTom-vs-1-11/td-p/343026
"To all those who are no longer able to add their own POI files using DiskAid or similar, since iOS 6:
Please be assured that we have been looking into this issue, and expect to re-enable this feature in the next release. Unfortunately we cannot give an exact date when the next release will be available.
Apologies for the inconvenience this has caused. Thanks to all for your feedback on this subject, and please bear with us as we get this next release ready for production." _________________ Samsung S22 Android, Google Maps & Camera Alert |

Yes, no point blaming Apple for this, nag TomTom. Apple has long since provided an official supported method for app devs to allow users to add data such as POIs. TomTom choose not to use it. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I admit they haven't handled it very well but it at least looks like it is coming back. Lets just hope we can still use the new POI method with the Pocketgps Cameras as before. No doubt we will get POIs but I bet warn when near doesn't work. _________________ Samsung S22 Android, Google Maps & Camera Alert |
