It's a shame you're having problems with two devices. My 1005 has been as good as gold since I got it. No reboots and I do 4-5 hours of driving every day. I have the latest software and maps.
Perhaps you've just been unlucky, twice, which isn't great. You should definitely get them to send you a brand new machine, not any reconditioned or ex-demo and the like. Ask for free year of map updates to compensate.

I would agree, and say give TomTom customer support a go
Among others and in addition to my TomTom Go 1000, I have a Garmin 2545 - which isn't their top line, just down from it - but is their latest systems, including Guidance 2, etc.
And while it is an improvement over the previous Garmins, it still suffers from poor map imaging, poor vocals and - my biggest bug-bare - poor routing compared to my TomTom
Still at around £170 for a 5" screen including lifetime map updates, I guess it was a reasonable price compared to a similar TT cost
I would see if you can borrow a friends first before making the switch... but trial it on real routes! _________________ TomTom Go Live 6100, 600
