I have found a review of the Active 10 written in December 2011 and reference to a new satmap unit in the offing.
The Active 20 which has a touch screen. Has anyone heard any news of such a unit. |

I see that what it says is:
Quote: I’m hoping that this discounting is because there’s a touch screen Satmap 20 in the offing. Unquote.
So it appears that the writter has no information on any Satmap 20!
So I do not plan to hold my breath while waiting.
Also, having got used to the A10 controls I cannot think of any advantage in a touch screen, just the opposite.
But we will see.... _________________ LostMike

Lol
Satmap won't be going down the touch screen road for obvious reasons. |

Thank goodness for that!
Hope there will always be a button version. It works very well for me, so please continue to refine it, but not completely change the unit design.
Things like battery connection and screen cover improvements would be more useful than touch screen for me. |

We are considering devices for the future, but as regards a release date we have no news. However I can confirm that the developments teams policy on touch screens is that they do not function properly in the rough, muddy, cold and wet conditions that we would be designing a product for.
