ITS FIXED!!!!!!!!!! TomTom 3 is finally sorted it to an acceptable standard .
AT FLIPPING LAST.
Today TomTom let me down big style. I was going to Church Lane, West Brom. Selecting the right Church Lane in the West Midlands is a hit and miss affair without a postcode and eventually I gave up in the end.
So,
Just installed the 3.03 update. Did a search for Church Lane, West Bromwich and it came up with the right one AS THE FIRST ONE IN THE LIST!!!!!! IT GOT IT RIGHT. WHOOPPPEEEEEE.
Looks like at least they've got the streets right.
SCARBOROUGH EXISTS!!!!!!
WHITBY IN NORTH YORKSHIRE EXISTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FILEY IN NORTH YORKSHIRE EXISTS!!!!!!!

Graham,
Did you use "navigate to" or Niels's postcode program?
I have just used "navigate to" and it found 1 Lyndhurst Road BH23 4 Christchurch (Dorset) without any problems.

Neither, I used contacts - show on TT Map. I have 58 contacts in Outlook which I travel to, all with the full Royal Mail address and Post code. They have always worked in TT2 and TT3.01. May well need a soft reset, not to worried about it at the moment as I subscibed to the TT Trafic trial yesterday, so was looking at installing Traffic this weekend. _________________ Graham.

Tried it again using Niels Postcode program and it found it ok, must be something to do with the way TT reads the address from Outlook Contacts. _________________ Graham.

The Outlook to TT link in my opinion as always been poor even under TT2. You nearly always had to re-arrange the address to TT could understand it. I would not be without Niels Postcode program, it finds the correct location 95% of the time. The other 5% is when it cannot find the postcode because it's not listed, that's when I go back to the address lookup in TT. |

Yes, seemed to work ok in TT2 and TT3.01 but not so well with TT3.03.
The repair/fix to correct the postcode lookup in 3.01 seems to have made the outlook search worse. _________________ Graham.

Chelmsford is not shown in Map view but certainly is shown as Chelmsford (Essex) in "Navigate to" (address look-up) mode - it was missing from pre v3.03. I assume you are referring to it missing from Map view?
Regards

I've only had TT3 a few days so I'm still 'playing' with it. I upgraded from v3.01 to v3.03 (427) today and after reading this thread I had to check.
Chelmsford is indeed not labelled on the map view but it is definitely not in the address lookup either. If I type in 'Chelmsford' in the city field, the nearest match is 'Chelmsley Wood (West Midlands)'
I'm also a little disappointed to find 'Nelson' and 'Clitheroe' (both sizable Lancashire towns) missing too. 'Colne' IS listed, despite this being a smaller town than Nelson. :o |

Are you sure you've upgraded? "Chelmsford" is a valid location when using TTN 3.03 for me. |

Of course I'm sure.
From the map screen, I've just re-checked the menu file|about screen and it says 'TomTom Navigator 3.03 (427)'
Maybe I should re-apply the upgrade?
What does your 'about' screen say? |

"Chelmsford (Essex)" is also there when I look for it. I also have 3.03(427) loaded.

I've just re-installed the upgrade to be doubly sure and Chelmsford, Clitheroe and Nelson(Lancs) are still not in the address lookup (Neither are they labelled on the map
What's going on here then?
Have I downloaded and installed the same upgrade from the same place as you peeps who can find these towns in the lookup here?
