|
|
I understand that Garmin uses csv file types and I am familliar with loading those types of files onto my sat nav using POI Loader. I then change the names of the uploaded files so that when I upload the next ones the new ones do not overwrite the old and then sit side by side.
So far so good!! Unfortunately I have forgotton what to do with either .Ov2 or .ASC POIs. I seem to remember that it is just possible to change the file extension of these to .csv and then when uploaded they will work. Please can someone advise me of how best to get Ov2 etc files onto my Garmin? |

An 'asc' file is just plain text in ASCII format so, if it has the right data inside the file, you can simply change the .asc extension to a .csv.
However an OV2 is an encrypted format so cannot simply change the extension. You will need a way to actually convert the file. Google search for "ov2 to csv conversion" will probably give you a few options.

You can use POIEdit to convert your ov2 files to csv, it can be downloaded from Here - Open the ov2 file then use the File/ SaveAs option and choose the csv format requred from the different selections available - Mike |
