Hi All,
New here, hope you can help.
I am about to go on a 3 week holiday to New Zealand, and I know there is a way of logging your travels on a sat nav, downloading a rerport, matching it up to the pictures taking, and geotagging by date / time?
Can anyone help with the best unit to buy for this, and the best software to use for it?
Thanks in advance
Richard
ps, forgot to mention, the uit should be used as a sat nav for driving too, not just a walking one. Thanks |

i would think somthing like a smartphone would be usefull for this even an ipod touch should suffice you can pick android pone up for about 100 pounds that would do the job or you could look at and ipod/ iphone also windows phone would be able to handle your requirements _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Thought of this, but as we are going to be doing a lot of driving, and using the sat nav for this, for it to be done on a phone, would cost a fortune, hence the desire for a dedicated sat nav, as it would be used for hours a day.
Thanks |

+1 for alix776, a smartphone could be the ideal solution. Depending upon which Navigation app you chose to install you do not have to be on-line for the maps to work as they can be stored on the memory (card). CamerAlert can track your routes. Instant result for geo-logging photos too.
However, if you are still not convinced and don't mind yesterdays technology and rolling your sleeves up i'd suggest a tomtom Go x20 or x30 or similar which works with 8.351 NavCore. Download and install TripMaster from www.webazar.org/tomtom. This shall enable you to Navigate, log your tracks and "sort of" geo-log your photo's using the POI's or Favourites functions.
Edit- suggested "Go" models revised. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599
