Which new satnav? I have been looking for a replacement for my Pda tomtom6. It is very confusing but my requirements are to have euro maps and be able to have speed camera POI + French camping aire’s show up when you are close to them without having to set them as a nav POI. An SD card slot would also be useful. So help please. Bloopug Rolling Eyes Confused

I can only vouch for TomToms really...

Maps - Easy, just make sure the one you buy has Europe maps. Don't look at "Regional" models.

POIs showing - All the TomTom's I've owned (Go and "One" models) have the option to show POIs on the normal 3D and 2D driving views as well as the "Browse map" 2D view.
It's possible that some of the simplest models such as the "Start 2" don't have that feature, but I can't say for sure.

French camping aire’s - Not sure what an "aire" is but if you find the built-in campsites POIs are not good enough, it is easy to find alternatives on the web and to install them onto any TomTom model.

SD card slot - A lot of recent models haven't had card slot (the Gox50 models were the last), but thankfully Tomtom are beginning to put them on again and you'll find them on some Via models and the very latest Go's that are about to go on sale (but not the Go1000/1005).

However, the slot isn't really needed YET, and hasn't been enabled in the software yet either.

Well after much head scratching and reading customer comments I opted for the Tom-Tom go live 825 and so far so good, there are a couple of teething problems but I guess it is more to do with not knowing how to......more feed back in a week or two. Smile
