I am thinking about purchasing a Rosen built in GPS navigational system for my Honda CRV. It has Win CE 6.0 installed along with Nav N Go navigational software. Has anyone any experience of Nav N Go software and is it possible to install the PocketGPS speed camera database to the software or would it be better to upgrade to say something like TomTom software and if so where can i find the relevant information to do this. I an new to this so any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Tony |

Nav N Go (iGO) is extremely costomisable. You can add different skins to make it look different and enhance its features. Routing can be done with multiple drop off points that the S/W will optimise. You can easily add the PGPSW camera database and, depending on the skin, have voice alerts instead of the standard 'turkey gobble' warning. If you have the required hardware, it will interface with TMC traffic and reroute accordingly. It will not do the TomTom HD traffic thing, but with all the shouting about this at the moment, it's debatable whether this is worth while anyway |

As a new and totally tech ignorant I am having difficulty with getting what I need from the system. I read somewhere that a third party skin is needed in order to get the approved voice files to work on iGO8. I have downloaded the files and I have the sounds prrrb prrrb and ding while in various speed zones but sadly not the voice overs which I would prefer. Can anyone please help and tell me where and how to get the required application to get things working. Thanks in large ammounts in advance. |

Firstly, it ain't quite as easy as just downloading a skin. If you are not very computer savvy or are not very good at swapping files around, then don't even try it.
Having said that. MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR DEVICE. If iGO is on an SD card, then copy the whole content of your card, or the device memory to a folder on your computer. This is VITAL so that when you break the software you can re-instate it. I used the word 'when' advisedly. I have broken mine loads of times experimenting, but I don't care because I have got EVERYTHING BACKED UP.
If you still want to carry on, then come back.
Before doing anything else we need to know what version of iGO8 do you have and what is the resolution of your screen |

As you say it's an authentic version, It is locked to the SD card and will only run from there. Is there an SD slot in the head unit that it will run from? Did the iGO SD card come with the head unit? Is the head unit the BMW one or is it an after fit? |

I have tried some cut and paste ops between the authentic and the supplied card with little result . There is an enormous list of skins on the authentic version can I cut and paste that to facilitate the voice prompts? sorry for being such a PIA and I do really appreciate your help. By the way he OS is win ce5 and the screen resolution is 800.480 I have also downloaded full pack jura skin in rar format from the net. |

If your legal iGO does not run from the SD card, I can't help you further on this forum, as the forum ruled, rightly, do not allow discussions about pirate software. |
