Hi
The girlfriend has a Nav Access MX100 Navigation/Entertainment system.
She is running Tom Tom Maps etc
The problem is that when she initiates the unit from off, it seems the hardware boots to the selection of icon preferences and then when having pressed the GPS icon the error message displays ' cannot find GPS program' and that is as far as it goes. We have both tried unsuccessfully to find a download of base unit software but no success. Emails to the manufacturer in China have all been ignored. The seller is no longer contactable. The only software given was the SD Tom Tom - The manufacturers reset does nothing to rectify
OTHER than the obvious to skip it; does anyone have any assistance they can offer??

Make sure the head unit knows where and what the tomtom.exe file is called, it probably lost this when you reset the device, have a read through This Thread for some pointers in the general direction.
Note TomTom doesn't run too well on these Chinese imports and the mapping software you got that came with the device will undoubtably be a pirate copy, the loss of the navigation voice is the first sign of inadequate memory within the hardware which is something you can't do anything about - Mike |

Hi Mike
Many Thanks for your concise informative advice. However, I am unable to point the head unit to the TomTom exe because I am unable to achieve any user operation of the 'explorer' part of the program. Sure I can access the SD card but when I attempt to use/edit with usb to my PC it (PC) errors this Device not recognizable. Are my options well and truly running out??
Kind Regards
Michael

I pass through FY8 on my way home from work each weekday so I could call round and take a look at it if you want (I work at that place not too far away from you that builds the worlds most expensive car alarm testers, one of which probably woke you up around midnight on Thursday) - Mike |
