Anyone had any experience of success in getting maps updated using the Map Insight to TeleAtlas. I have been reporting map errors to them for a little while now and it is particularly intuitive and easy and you get regular updates as to the progess of the amendment.
However, although they say it only takes a short while to check and amend the update, they go on to say it could take a long time for it to appear on new maps.
Edit: Sorry that link is broken - try Here
So, Any successes _________________ Gee-Pee

There have been several reports recently, here and on other forums, that there has been a sudden flurry of emails from TeleAtlas (now TomTom) thanking people for reports thay made back in 2006-2008!!!
It seems they have got someone trying to reduce a huge backlog of un-actioned reports.
I got one of the emails a month or so ago, thanking me for a road name change I reported in 2007, with a link to the position on the on-line map. Shame it still showed the old name!
Incidently I've been correcting it via mapshare on every map version since, and it finally seems to have been corrected now. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

I was in that little 'flurry' of activity getting 3 emails from TeleAtlas telling me that they were confiming my submissions from Aug & October 2008, it's good to know that TeleAtlas finally got there but almost 3 years?? |

Same here....
I'll expect some more in the next 6-12 months - been correcting the Hampton area near Peterborough for years now....

Expect to wait about another 3 or 4 years for the next email telling you it will appear on a map. _________________ GO 620, Tomtom Android EU,

Can't help but be rather cynical. I got 2 emails about errors reported over 2 years ago - told one will be incorporated in the new map... The changes I reported had already been in the last two maps; the only problem is that for the last 3 or 4 maps, a completely new road layout completed well over a year ago, superseding these changes, still is not shown in 870, despite being correctly shown in 845.
Also, the road in a new estate where my daughter and family moved to 5 years ago is still not shown on the latest map. They still have problems with delivery drivers who do not know how to find them.
'On average 15% of roads change every year. Be up-to-date, just download a new map and go!'
Could this statement on the Tomtom maps page fall foul of the Trades Descriptions Act? It seems to imply maps are never more than a year out of date!!! _________________ GO 750 Live HD Traffic, Map Europe 930, Navcore 9.510 |

It will be the ASA you need to contact.

One of my replies said no further action is planned. Not sure why when their map is wrong.
