Go HERE and scroll half way down the page where you'll find what each is.
Bsically pMobiles are cameras which have been reported by one person but not verified so p=pending.
Gatso include fixed roadside cameras. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

Have a look at this page. Here
You'll need to scroll down to the relevant information.
pMobile are (I think) unverified mobile sites. |

Except that we classify Gatso cams, Truvelo cams, Monitron cams etc (Fixed, non redlight or specs) all as 'gatso' |

Shame 'Liz' can't record some more sound files for each of the different types of camera and I could process them individually into GPX files _________________ DashCam:

What's the difference between a Gatso, Monitron and Truvelo. I mean the operational difference - they ALL check speeds at a precise point on the road. Would you behave differently for a Gatos, Truvelo or Monitron? It matters not which way they face when they check your speed, it matters not whether it is done by a film camera or a digital camera. The end result is that if you pass across their spot on the road at a speed greater than the limit, you're nicked! How much comfort do you get from knowing you've been nicked by a Gatso rather than a Truvelo or a Monitron.
The real "problem" here is that the generic title which pgpsw have used for years is "Gatso" and they still haven't got round to changing the heading to "Fixed" camera. I can't remember the last time I bought a "Hoover" (actually never, but Vera "Hoovers" the house every Wednesday). _________________ Dennis

That's why my "Simon" voice just says "Speed camera...30" for fixed, "Mobile camera...30" for mobiles etc. |

(Of course, CamerAlert for iPhone just says "Fixed Camera".)
Thing is, I hate to think how much effort it would take to change everything from Gatso to Fixed Camera - not just the camera files, but also all the icons and all the voice warnings - so many people just wouldn't notice even the largest announcement and there would be havoc with all the "new" downloads not picking up the icons and warnings. _________________ Dennis
