Archived Trip Logs on nuvi 775t ate up memory

My nuvi 775t suddenly froze at a fixed percentage when trying to calculate a route and would no loger display the map. After much fiddling with it a screen came up saying that I was out of memory and asking for permission to delete the current trip log and the archived trip logs. I do not know how I got to that point but after replying yes the unit was back in working order. There is no memtion of archived trip logs in the manual. Does anyone know whether going into MyData and clearing the trip log there also deletes all these archived logs. I don't understand Garmin's approach to trip logs on this unit since there seems to be no way to view these logs that ultimately eat up the memory.

You can copy the trip logs to a pc and then view them in Basecamp (a Garmin supplied program) and then you can delete them from your Satnav

Basecamp can be used to display your journeys showing both speed and altitude.
