--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Everyone
As a relatively new user to downloading speed cameras and POIs couuld someone offer advice on a problem I seem to be having
I have a Kenwood System which includes the KNA421 sat nav unit.
I am trying to download updated speed cameras and poi's to it but unfortunately the unit does not seem to be recognising the SD card with the new data.
I have followed the instructions and downloaded the speed camera database and the POI's I want and extracted the files to a directory on my computer in CSV format. I have then used the Garmin POI loader to transfer this data to the SD card which it states has been successful.
Looking at the card I have the following
Root Directory - garmin
next directroy - poi
Then in this directory I have a file - SDpeedcams.gpi
Is this correct?
When I put the card into the Kenwood unit it does not recognise it. I do not get any error messages. The unit just displays the normal map screen,
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Hi Bob,
That all looks OK assuming the poi folder is within the garmin folder.
One other thing worth checking. Some users have reported that it will only work if the folder name is Garmin rather than garmin.
Can you try renaming the folder and testing again.
I've moved this post a more suitable forum. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi Darren
Have tried what you suggsted but no luck. It is really strange as I have updated POIs and speedcams in the past but have always had a problem in getting unit to recognise the card. I noticed that when I put back in the map sd card the unit updates the date of the maps from 2008 to 2009 so its reading the map sd card ok, is it possible the KNA 421 couild be faulty
Thanks for yor assistance

Do you have another card you could try? Updating the Kenwood's has always seemed to be a bit hit'n'miss and even KenwoodUK don't know why _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi Darren
Yes I have tried a different SD card without success. I have also tried updating the firmware (which I believe is the latest version anyway) but again the unit will not seem to recognise the card, or at least the information on it, has been inserted, I don,t see there is much more I can do
Regards
