|
|
I have a Nuvi 350 that has been very reliable for the past five years.
I have loaded the latest mapping (40) for all of Europe and now when I select Address from the menu I am asked "What State/Prov is the Address". Whatever I the press I get a "No Matches Found" message.
I have reloaded all of the software, twice, and still it stays the same.
The Garmin help desk just asks me to check the mapping is turned on.
All other functions seem to work.
Any advice please as I can no longer search for addresses by postcode. |

If you go into "Settings | Map | Map Info" (or whatever it's actually called on the 350 ;-), does it list City Navigator Europe 2011.40 as being active?
(It's possible that the only map currently in use is the basemap...)

Many thanks for that reply, that is what Garmin keep telling me to do.
The mapping is ticked as active and the mapping seems to work ok. I have also tried reloading the mapping but that does not help. |

How about the various 'locale' settings?
-- ah ... just had a thought....
Did you download this map from Mapsource into the unit, or as part of the initial download procedure?
I don't think *all* the information makes it into Mapsource, so the resulting maps can exhibit this effect...
(Something I did in the past caused this - but I can't quite remember what!)
::EDIT::
I just remembered
In my case, I'd used a 3rd party tool to load my GPS maps into Mapsource, and then tried modifying them and downloading them back to the GPS - the Postcode lookup got lost somewhere in the process.
(Garmin's own procedures don't cause this issue)

I am still struggling with this problem.
I have completely reloaded everything from fresh by downloading again from the Garmin site and still no change
I have now asked Garmin if it could be a fault in the operating system and not the mapping but have not had a reply back yet. They are very slow.
Thanks for all your help and comments. |

Does "The whole of Europe" fit on the 350? - I would have thought it was too big ... wouldn't you have had to just select "Western Europe"? Or are you using an SD card?
Maybe you're right - and the c.2007 Nüvi350 can't cope with such a large file... you could try loading a smaller subset, such as UK & Ireland.

You are correct the mapping has to be loaded on to a SD card. The whole download takes up just over 2GB on a 4GB card and has always worked well up until this latest download. |
