|
|
I own a 2012 BMW F10 with an HDD-based Professional Nav system and would like to import the speed camera database as POIs via a USB stick. The car's manual gives instructions on how to upload POIs in this way but I don't know how to get the Cameralert database onto a USB stick in the right format. Any advice?
I know that I won't get audible warnings but a visual warning would be better than nothing! |

Does the manual say what format the files need to be in?

Nope, afraid not. Although you can get POI updates from BMW they don't include speed cameras. I have trawled a number of forums and web sites to find out whether updating the POIs is feasible oneself, but so far haven't come up with anything. |

Don't know - thought someone may have already cracked this problem, since BMW have been running this system for 2 years now. |

I have a 2012 map disc for BMW Business Nav, which I assume includes POI update, but there's nothing recognisable as a usable database file - there is a file called 151,000 KB file called POIINFO but it's listed as in ISO file, which doesn't really help. _________________ Galaxy Note 4 / TomTom GO : CamerAlert : CoPilot |

Can you get some and we can see if it's a format we can provide?
The system may well have been around for 2 years but as none of the team here drive BMWs, nor have BMW been very forthcoming in providing us with review samples, we can only go off what our users (you) tell us :D

I've asked my dealer and am waiting for a reply....
Reading a very wide range of BMW forums, this is a question that many have asked but no-one (so far) has found an answer. It seems clear that BMW want to charge you £200 or more for updates of any of the maps! |
