hi gang, my daughters tomtom XL has very limited battery life .. its been back once guess what no fault found,, is this normal? thanks alan.......  |

For a start the device is intended to be used with the power cord while in the car, a new fully charged battery should last for around two hours without the power lead inserted.
TomTom don't offer a battery replacement service, you can do it yourself and there are instructions on this site for carrying this out - Mike |

Sadly, Yes it is very normal.
As mikealder has said, a fully charged new battery lasts about 2 hrs but this diminishes to about 10min after about a year or two of use.

i had same problem as you
my 720 had limited battery life
it was still within warranty
contacted tomtom
theycontacted repair centre at glenrothes scotland
they sent abox ans royalmail specail delivery bag
i sent unit off
it came back no fault found
contacted tomtom
unit sent back i enclosed a letter telling then to run with no external power
and check battery life
came back with new battery fitted
hope this helps
you dont say if your is still warranty
