After wavering between TT3 and Navigon I decided to get the Tchibo TCM Medion package as I could at last try out the interface, and return it if |I don't like it.

Problems:
1. Type in a Town or Postcode. Select the chosen one form the drop-down list.
It then takes nearly a minute to find it in it's database. Why? It must (surely) be an indexed database as it's already done the difficult bit (going from raw text to a pre-defined list), and so should take seconds. Actual route navigation is then realtively quick!!
OK I'm impatient, but I don't want to wait in my car while it thinks slowly.

Is this due to the PPC being 200MHz rather than Ipaq 2210's 400MHz?
Or is it the program and would TT3 be faster?

2. Postcode search is a joke.
I could live with only using the first 4 digits (though Niels program is much better), but with Medion if you type in more it doesn't ingore them, it gets confused.

Does the above mean I should return it for TT3?
3. It also seems to demand postcode in 'W12 3 W12' format from Contacts, which is bizarre.

A deciding factor here is the quality of the storage card. If you use a SanDisk SD card you may end up waiting ten times longer than if you would use, let's say, a Panasonic card. Make sure your storage card is well defragmented.

Thanks. It's the card that came with it, pre-formatted, so I'll have to find out how to de-fragment it! I'll have a look.
