I am looking for a suitable GPS receiver to use with my IPAQ 2210 in my motor caravan. My intention is to mount the receiver with a clear 'view' of the sky under one of the clear plastic skylights. The obvious choice would be a Bluetooth receiver (no wires) but I have read so many stories on this site about problems with 2210 and Bluetooth I wonder if I would have a more reliable solution using a wired receiver? If I choose wired, what is the maximum cable length between PDA and GPS receiver? Could I extend the distance further by using a wired receiver, with an external antenna? My guess is I would need at least 7m cable between the dashboard and the rooflight allowing for concealing cables. Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi broc,

I have a 2210 along with TTN3 (I had TTN2 before) and Memory Map, all working with a Fortuna Clip-on Bluetooth GPS. The only problem I have experienced is with the TT GPS driver stealing the show preventing MM from using my GPS. The solution for this is well documented - remove the TT driver.

Like you I have seen all the problems in this forum but my experience with these products seems to have been a lot better than many of the contributors here.

I would thoroughly recommend me set-up to anyone. But then again may be I'm just lucky
