Hi........I am looking to buy a new Satnav unit for my car.......I have used a Navman over recent years but it is beginning to fail.
There are just so many manufacturers / models available, it is difficult to know where to start. There are many good reviews on this site but reading through them all is not possible, I would loose the will to live before I finished.......
Suggestion.............how about a table of features with each unit compared, ticked if included in unit function and with your own star rating. This would help focus on units that meet individuals needs
Thanks

I guess it's pretty difficult to maintain the sort of list you mention. It's done pretty well for the iPhone applications but that probably takes a helluva lot of work I guess - though at least those applications are current. PNDs come and go so quickly it would almost certainly be an unmanageable task.
You say Quote: | This would help focus on units that meet individuals needs | That's perhaps the best way round - you tell the forum what you are MOST after, and members can try and advise you on the most appropriate device(s).
These days though, the feature sets are quite similar in many cases. If you are less familiar with what features are around now, have a look at a couple of (say) TomTom and Garmin models to see what's on offer, to try and draw up a wish list. Some members will possibly advise different units, but that will be a good start. GOOD LUCK!! _________________ David

I've tried to do a chart JUST for the TomTom models and even that is really hard to {a} research and {b} keep up to date. |
