It still dumps your existing mapsettings.cfg file. I noticed that after it had completed the downloads and finished all copying etc there was in fact no mapsettings.cfg file on the device, it gets created the next time you re-start the device.
Restoring my saved one from backup seemed to work OK, no problems with continual re-booting, but then again I did do Operate My Go within Home and pretended to do something to favourites just in case.. |

JoolsTwo Mine has saved the original mapsettings.cfg file more times than its dumped it in the past so somehow it can get retained. |

I was offered Central & Western Europe map v860.3101. I thought it would have a different version number to the UK map. Anyway I downloaded it (2 hours!) onto my micro sd card. Now my unit is continually rebooting so I removed the card and reinserted it. Stopped rebooting but now I can't navigate. Tried preparing a route and it's ok until I press Street and house number. It reboots from there.
Luckily I always keep a duplicate micro SD card with everything working so I've put that one back in albeit with map v855.2884.
What's going wrong anybody? |

Try deleting the mapsettings.cfg file and try again.
You'll loose all your settings and speed cam alerts but the system should work again. To be safe make a copy on your pc first. |

As commented above the recent changes to Home were supposed to, and in many had, stopped the problems with carrying one mapsettings.cfg file to a new map. Perhaps a one off or perhaps it's broken again! |

Down loaded and installed Europe_West in less that 40 mins. What I do now is load each map section in turn so that they are on my PC when needed. |

For me in what seems a regular occurance when updating my western and central europe map on my 910 - it fails!
Downloads in about couple of hours but fails to load as it states it not a valid archive file.
I have restarted PC
reset 910
Deleted map zip file and redownloaded
still same problem
Tomtom home states that the file exists on PC but will not load/transfer it to 910.
Any suggestions.

Came home from work and read here map was available. So went on-line with TT Home and there it was. But my connection speed was so slow it would have been quicker to send a letter.
So have just been on again, speed is fine but its now NOT offering the western Europe map?
What gives?
Or is it just TT strikes again

Took me about 15 minutes to download and install UK & ROI 860.3101 to three devices, 550 Live, XL Live and 520 - 550 and XL retained the Mapsettings.cfg, but 520 needed the latest copy from when I got home today (on the backup I took before downloading the map).
I've tried to get map update service for my new Carminat (Renault built in), but although it's taken my order, it's still processing the payment - absolute PITA when I have to undock the SD card from the van, use my card reader, undock, re-dock and uncle Tom Cobley and all. _________________ Dennis

TomTom are obviously phasing in different map versions at different times. On the built in memory of my 720 I have Europe - Western zone, and if I plug that into the computer Home offers me the latest 860 map. On a separate 4GB SD card I have the full Western Europe map, but when that is plugged (using a card reader) the map is not yet offered
