... best for iPhone4? I love good old TomTom, but quite willing to try something else. |

Comes down to personal choice ultimately, but my feeling (having used Co-Pilot and Navigon, among others) is that TomTom offers the most mature and accurate product. Also their HD Traffic service is excellent. |

Welcome back, Sygic, TomTom or Navigon would be my choices, they all have there quirks but any of those three are worthy of considering - Mike |

Thank you, Mike What I should have asked is - are there any particular quirks that would render them difficult to use, especially abroad. For instance, I've been reading about Co-Pilot not getting the satellite lock when data roaming is switched off. I also remember TomTom not initialising the GPS receiver on some HTC Windows Mobile devices (that was some time ago), so that one had to start another GPS app first and only then TT would start working. |

my vote is Navigon, traffic service worth the upgrade and now with IOS 4.2 can have PGPSW cameras app running in background, so get voice warnings on their cameras as well as your nav instructions and play IPOD at the same time |

That's also possible with the TomTom app but I do it by adding the PGPSW POI files and spoken alerts directly to the TomTom app which is achieved easily without jail breaking the iPhone - Mike |

I bought Copilot for use on a visit to the USA in the summer. I had data roaming switched off the whole time (at those prices) and yet Copilot worked fine for me. I personally prefer Sygic, because its interface is the closest to what I was used to, Tom Tom.
OOPS Just notice you are asking about the iphone, whereas I have Android, so please ignore comments _________________ Peter
