I note that on MyGarmin that there is a map update available.
However, I think that I shall wait for about a week to download, as on the last two occasions revised versions ( _a, _b and _c) appeared within a short time and a large part of my monthly dowload allowance was used up by multiple downloads. |

Thanks for the heads-up my new maps are being download -although understand what you say about the re-issues with corrections. Have a pretty good download speed (15mb) and no limit on data so giving the first release a run
New Garmin update process too - and it seems MUCH simpler than before (although the data download time is likely to be the same) _________________ TomTom Go Live 6100, 600

Mine is on. I could only load "Western Europe" but since I doubt I'll be going outside that on the bike, that'll do me.

Just updated the maps on my 860. A much quicker and simpler process, less than 90 mins start to finish! |

I had just got my new 1690 on the 10th of august and there was a new map update then so I updated it then but yesterday I found out there was a new one available but a quick phone call to Garmin and they added new one to my account now that is service you would not have got from TomTom if you could have got through to them
I am so much happier with a Garmin now |

Bought mine on the 7th Aug, registered it on the 9th and D/L my map update NT2011.10. Saw the new update to version 2011.20, rang them, same as you, was very polite, but was politely told where to go. You had your update and that was that!!
Thanks for nothing Garmin.
Wouldn't mind so much, I know they have to have a cut off, but there are 4 Garmins in my family. |

Think I would give them another ring and speak to someone else who may be more helpful and add it to your account

I ordered the DVD for my free update (though I had to pay postage) because I wasn't in a rush, and thought it would be quicker to load the new mapping on the unit and my PCs ... it arrived yesterday (ordered on 20 August, so considerably quicker than the '4-6 weeks' promised) but on running the installation program it validated the unlock code with Garmin servers and informed me that there was a newer version available, and would I like to download it? So the whole exercise to avoid hours of download was a bit pointless! I can't tell which version of the map came on the DVD (maybe it was 2011.10?) but the part number was 010-11045-53. _________________ J D Gwinnell

Got an e-mail from Garmin today, telling me that a new map update was available.
However, when I went to mygarmin nothing new shows.
So, can I presume that Garmiun are a bit behind (one month ) in sending out notifications?
I had hoped that they were getting back onto schedule for quarterly updates. |
