I used TT on my Ameo with a memory card. Last year I backed the card up onto a DVD together with navigator- vers 6 I think.
I used the card for other stuff.
Now I have tried to re-install TT on my Ameo but TT cannot find the maps.
Having trawled through posts it seems that I have done the correct thing:
Installed TT and put the map- UK-- in the root.
TT fires up OK but then says 'no maps.
I have re-installed several times in every possible directory/root.
I used Home--the older version only works with Ameo- and yes it sees the maps but TT just cannot find them.
I don't want to to and buy another TT as I don't use it that often.
Any suggestions please (end yes I am using a paper map at the moment)

From way back I seem to remember that every time you install, you have to activate the map. Apparently some Units change the Device Code.
You need to visit www.ttcode.com to get the Activation Number. There is a Help link on how to find the numbers you need. _________________ Richard

Thanks for the hint; no idea where my reg nos are though.
Last year I deleted the lot too and managed to install it again without recourse to reg nos so it was and hence should be possible again.

You can also normally find your product code on the TomTom website under your account settings somewhere.
Just had a look and if you sign in to "mytomtom" and under support home, click on "my orders" under support questions on the right hand side.
Then click "my products" on the right hand side, that will list every device / version you have registered with TomTom complete with it's product code.
You can use that product code to register the software on a new device on the link Oldboy listed above. The only stipulation I think is you can only swap devices once every 6 months I think.
(although on thinking this might not be an automatic thing, I may have added these myself to keep them safe, can't remember but worth a look to see if you did?) _________________ Samsung S22 Android, Google Maps & Camera Alert |
