I was considering buying another years subscription to get updated pocketgpsworld camera database files but then came across Trapster http://www.trapster.com/
You can download the camera files for anywhere in the world for free by using their map approach to grab an area/country. I have this loaded into my TomTom for all of UK and from what I can tell it looks very comprehensive coverage and has all cameras that i know of in my area. In my opinion its well worth taking a look at and trying out, using google map users can also add new cameras. Cost £0. |

A few mobile sites missing in my area, and at least one fixed that went a few months ago is still shown. |

There are between 8 and 12 mobile sites missing within a 3 mile radius of my home.
Looks as if it is very much out of date. _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. Now using Maps & Waze on Samsung Galaxy S4 + CamerAlert of course! |

not bad coverage near me. although it's the mobiles that would cause me an issue.. 5 very frequent sites are missing and 2 statics (out of the 14) are missing.
i've used their app on the iphone and i have to admit i wasn't that impressed with the data. the cameras they do have are inaccurately placed...
you get what you pay for i guess.

When I looked for about -3 mins it appeared to be updated quite a few times, so all I can say is it can only get better, Pgpsw only improved with time and initally free. _________________ Moto G5s Plus, Sygic 17.4.8 |

indeed, but i trust you can see how much it has improved since it became a paid-for service?
weekly updates (was 1 per month [ish])
improved international coverage (was uk only and very limited non-uk coverage [nl, us, fr, de])
directional data
multiple formats and regions under one subscription
low bridges pois as part of same subscription
plus every site is verified and we also purge 'unused' mobile sites.

Update their database then... I find a useful extra with this service (now I've been using it a few days) are the real-time updates and text alerts that they send to your phone of just reported police mobile sites, now that is clever. |

The big difference between our service and others such as Trapster is human verification.
That makes a huge difference to the quality of the data. Competition is good for the consumer though but I'd like to think our input and the quality of the data is worth the small outlay.
Of course we all want everything to be free so the choice is an automated service with no verification for free or data that is verified and checked for accuracy at a price.
The choice is yours. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Er, you mean "a free benefit for registered subscribers" don't you? |

With all due respect to your feelings I think you have got your facts totally wrong. I suggest you re-visit Trapster and take a closer look at how it operates, you will then in fact find that it relies on real time subscriber human verification. Real time, not every week or every month. |

Try putting london and and update preferrences and it says POI succesfully updated or nothing to update and doesn't give me the option to save of download anything _________________ TomTom ONE Series 30 (v8) & TMC traffic
