Hi,

I have just got an Ipaq 3660 and am considering using it for GPS, but the battery life appears to be 45 minutes at best and 5 minutes at worst.
I have seen several sites where you can purchase standard or extended internal batteries.

Standard Battery
http://www.ipaqrepair.co.uk/view_product.php?product=65

Extended Battery
http://www.ipaqrepair.co.uk/view_product.php?product=189

Has anyone tried this and noticed any difference in the battery life, or is it better to put the money towards a new ipaq??

Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Dave.

hi mate, just got the same ipaq my self!

ive bene told that the battery life on mine isnt that good, but seeing as though im only going to be using in car with a power cable, im not really that bothered, it is an old ipaq so a bad battery life is to be expected.

ive seen a few battery replacement kits on ebay for cheaper then the site you have mentioned. search for "ipaq replacement" mate

Unless you've got a lot of add-ons that can't be made to work with more modern iPAQs, it's not worth spending a lot of money on an old 3600 series. There's an argument that says spending 100 pounds on a replacement battery is getting on for half the cost of a new 2210, though the 2210 will not take expansion packs / sleeves, also the power / sync / charge connector is different (it changed from the 3800 series onwards).

Clearly the original poster's battery has failed - if you can get a replacement cheaply, maybe that's the way to proceed, though do try to ensure that the "new" battery hasn't been sat on a shelf for ages, as it may be pretty sick if it has.
