I know this may sound like a silly question , can someone please tell me how to install the speed cams onto my iPhone. I have TomTom installed on it and can't see how to add/import the cams onto it.
Many thanks _________________ All the best

You can't, I'm afriad.
The iPhone app doesn't allow 3rd party POis to be loaded.
Moved to Apple iPhone forum. |

I'm hoping this could change in the future. iPhone OS 4.0 allows file transfer to applications via iTunes.
However I believe the Sat Nav apps would have to be re-written to utilise this function, which opens up the question of whether they would want to, instead of sticking to in-app subscriptions and downloads to force their own versions of speed camera etc onto their customers. |

if your iphone is jailbroken then you CAN install the database. however, you only get the icons on the map, there are no no audible warnings.
regardless of OS4 features you can, at present, add files to apps. i do it all the time when i export my cd collection and dvd colection database to my iphone (saves me buying duplicates in the shop). this is done over wifi using the desktop software. TT (and others) could easily create some desktop software to allow users to add their own POIs / speed cams etc...
not sure why they haven't, perhaps 'its an iphone' is a good excuse to force people to use their terrible database??!

Whilst this is possible there is still no way to add warnings to custom POI files within the TomTom app on the iPhone which makes loading the files a waste of time and effort.
Only Sygic offers true third party speed camera support along with spoken alerts, but again this requires a Jail Broken iPhone to get the files on the device - Mike |

You won't get far with a non Jail Broke iPhone using this software, and as I said earlier in the thread only Sygic offers true Third Party POI support in their Navigation applications - Mike |

yes, jailbreak is the only way to get root access (which is where all the apps are stored) otherwise all you'll see is media files.

Download a prog. called iphonebrowser and you can add poi and speed cams yourself to var/mobile/applications look in each folder to find UK-IRELAND APP then open united kingdon/rep.of ire. folder then drag on drop pois and cams into iphonebrowser all done.
Please this only works if iphone is JAILBROKEN |
