Hi AndyVaughan
I downloaded my last map on February 20th, so the next quarterly one should be with us sometime this year
Gawd, things are quiet on the Forum when one has to start discussing the next map update.
What we really want is another navcore update that crashes the devices and then the forum will be fairly buzzing once again. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

Should've been Sunday 16th at exactly three calendar months (which was when my XL Live told me a new map was available - it lied). You've nicked my bet, so I'll have to revise to late Friday 21st (just as they close for the weekend and, as usual, leave their map server on slow to stop). _________________ Dennis

I would have said the 20th as well, so I shall have to bring my bet forward to the 19th. _________________ Anita

20/05/10 seems to be the date mentioned on other forums complete with screen grabs from e-mails etc from TomTom......
Next question is the time it will get released, my guess is:
10:30 on 20/05/10 (UK Time) lets see if anyone can beat that, I guess by 23:59 on Thursday quite a few of us might be sitting around with no new maps due to no release or server issues (again), time will tell - Mike |

You never know, we might get one, especially if TT have changed the protection on the map. |

What are you implying, Andy? What do you think might (or could) replace the existing 'lock to device' method.
(I agree that that method sure doesn't work well when the warez sites seem to hack the maps weeks before public release) _________________ David |

Lets just say I have seen elsewhere a compatability chart for v850 maps and Navcores, and some v8 Navcores appear to not be compatible with v850 maps (inc 8.419 which is the last official release for the XL LIVE).
The last time something like this happened TT had beefed up the protection algorithm for the maps IIRC.
Then again the site I saw this on is currently 'offline' so cannot go back and take a second look.
It could of course all be a load of rubbish as they seem to have the info before the official release. |

Yeah, pretty sure I know where you are referring to when you say 'elsewhere'. _________________ David |

And funnily enough yesterday a certain Taiwan 850 appeared and today the site is offline.
