Hi could anyone provide some help.
I have been loading the POI camera information for a number of years but just recently or just noticed, that the space on the device shows at 11M free.
I have seen that one of the file at 5M is a recovery file fragments in the root, can this be deleted?
The other major size files are in the Western Europe folder
Cline.dat at 496M
Cnode.dat at 164M
Faces.dat at 52M
Does anyone know what these files are for and could they be deleted without causing trouble?
Any help or suggestion appreciated

Please don't go deleting any files in the Western_Europe map folder as the files you list are actually the map data itself and a sat nav without a map is pretty much useless, I have seen this done though so you wouldn't be on your own!

Also the files in the root of the device with a .chk file extension are actually contain the sounds the device needs to work, without these files the device won't boot up. A Windows based PC thinks files with a .chk are recovered file fragments, your TomTom uses Linux and needs the .chk files in order to function.

With 11MB free I wouldn't worry too much as POI files don't take up too much space, if you do want to free up some space consider deleting some of the foreign voices in the "voices" folder - Before you delete anything at all make sure you have made a full backup of the device using Windows Explorer - Mike
