Inputting USA Postcodes

I have just purchased a new USA map for my Tomtom 530 sat nav.
Inputting a postcode is not working correctly. IE: a florida postcode of FL34747 or even with a space FL 34747 is just coming up with area names the places all over the USA that begin with Fl. Is there a certain way of inputting usa postcodes as inputing the city/road/street number works fine on this address?

US postal codes are just 5 numeric characters. Try it without the 'FL'
