I have been running v8 on my HTC Touch pro 2 with stock UK wm6.5 Rom for some months.

A couple of days ago I upgraded to traffic. First the Traffic download would usually time out with a message to check my internet connection which was rubbish as the other live services worked fine (indeed Traffic would work in about 1 in 10 tries). Then this morning I powered up CoPilot and the dots at the bottom of the screen appeared and it said calculating route. As soon as they had all turned green CoPilot shut down.

I have tried numerous times today to get it to work but the same thing happens each time. I have soft reset the phone several times and even hard reset and then restored the last backup (this worked with a persistent problem I had with other software a few months ago). I have also run the cab files I found in folder 2572 and reinstalled CoPilot but to no effect.

To say the least this is tedious! I seem to recall reading a thread where others were having similar problems but seem (probably using wrong search words) unable to find it .I would be grateful for any help and advice.

For anyone with a similar problem, I seem to have resolved this.

I did some exploring and dug down in my storage card to COPILOT/EU/UKIreland/SAVE and renamed all files dated from the last couple of days including ones named position0 and position1. CoPilot then powered up as if nothing was wrong.

Also the traffic is now working without timing out, though I suspect that this is coincidental and normal (bad) service will resume shortly. Ho hum.
