Just received in an email from TomTom (did search for France and found nothing).....One thing I noted this "appears" to be available to all even if you don't have a sub to the speed camera service.....see last paragraph
Summer holiday in France?
In case you’re driving in France this summer, you should know that there have been some recent changes to the French Speed Cameras service. You’ll need to update your device with our latest software to get warnings of danger zones ahead.
:
:
If you have a device that is supported, you need to connect your navigation device to TomTom HOME or MyTomTom and do the following:
Download the new update that activates French Danger Zones on your navigation device.
Download the one-time free download of a French Danger Zones file. This is for everyone even if you don’t have a subscription to the Speed Camera service.

There's been LOTS of discussion about the French decision on here, so I'm surprised if a "search" found none of it! Or did you just mean "no mention of this email"?
What seems to have happened here is that TT realised (or had pointed out to them) that many TomToms come with a pre-loaded out-of-date version of their camera data, along with a free "one-time" update.
That meant that many TomTom owners were driving around with "illegal" data on their devices even if they didn't think they were subscribed to the TT speed camera warnings.
As such, TT HAD to offer a way to remove the offending data for free and owners are more likely to do it if they get something in return. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

So here are my wonderings. For one reason or another I have no desire to take my GOs beyond NavCore 8.351, but I would dearly love these Danger Zones from TT. If I connect my Rider2 which is already on the up-to-date 7.901 NavCore to TTHome (spit) to get the Zones do you think that I could then copy the file across to my GO's? _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599
