|
|
Hi,
Does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade the firmware on my now really old, but perfectly working TT710?
I was looking on eBay and lots of people are selling 710s upgraded with 940 software!
I know I won't get things like HD traffic as that requires hardware, but if I could get IQ routes etc I would be more than happy to stick with my old device and upgrade my maps to the latest version.
Have tried searching the forum, but it brings back a million useless results for me, so would be grateful if anyone could advise me!
Thanks,
Chris. |

It seems from this link that you can get Western_Europe 845 with IQ routing for your unit without upgrading the firmware. _________________ David |

Hey, don't lose sleep over IQ Routes!
I have a GO 700 running application 6.520 and map Western & Central Europe v675.1409. Running alongside an XL Live IQ Routes running App 8.417 and map v845.2645. Probably 8 times out of 10 they offer the same route and same ETA!! The other 2 occasions they offer only a very small difference. _________________ Dennis

Yup! Trouble is, with the above plus a GO520 with App 8.417 and an HTC Advantage with TTN6, by the time I'm ready to go, it's time to come home already. But it's fun having them all shouting "Follow me! Me! Me! Me!" _________________ Dennis

Thanks everyone. As you say, maybe it isn't worth it.
I am considering getting a 750 with HD traffic, (this is off topic now, so I might start a new thread or look for an old 1!). I currently use traffic over data - how do the 2 compare? I know data traffic isn't perfect, lots of ghost jams etc. and sometimes puts me in jams it doesnt know about - BUT overall living in London, it is worth it's weight in gold as if 1 route is known to be bad, it will send me another route which makes little impact on normal journey time, but avoids getting held up in traffic so it works out brilliantly for me.
So, does anyone with experience of the old data traffic system have any experience of HD traffic?
A new 740 with 12 months subscription can be had for under £200! I would get the latest maps as well then - mine are 3 years old or more and I could sell on the old 710 for about £70 on good old eBay :-) |
