Thank you for that.
EVERYBODY - Remember, do a copy and Paste backup before you touch it!
Mine was nice and quick - I have XL Live and GO520, both UK & ROI. Did the XL Live first and it took quarter of an hour. The 520 took only 5 minutes and didn't download the map - obviously because I have paid for both update subscriptions, it was happy to install the one download (on both Internal and SD card). With both 520 and card reader in use, it installed to both at the same time.
I've lost Mapsettings contents as usual, but still have all the pgpsw cameras.
Copying Mapsettings.cfg from the backup I took immediately before the update gives me the constant reboot cycle on the XL Live, so I'm not going to even bother with the 520! Taking it off again cured it. This is a real pain!

Downloaded new map UK & Roi this morning for my other halfs 530T, lost the usual mapsettings.cfg but had backup to sort. No problems at all. Did the same with 550 and an even better result as there was no need to copy/paste mapsettings as it wasn't affected. But no issues with either unit. |

Just use "Operate my Go" in Home before rebooting or disconnecting after the map update and all the settings are preserved. This worked on W&C Europe 8.45 on 940 and UK&I 8.45 on the 530.
I get an error in Home saying my map is 20 weeks out of date and MapShare corrections are temporarily unavailable on both models, usually there are a few to download on a new map. _________________ Drivelux |

On my 720, the map update replaced mapsettings.cfg with a new one. Restored from my backup, used 'Operate my Go' and all was back to normal
At least the new map didn't come with a new application which didn't operate the go out of the box! _________________ GO 750 Live HD Traffic, Map Europe 930, Navcore 9.510 |

Update to the above post - my 720 is now spontaneously rebooting after being switched off - even after clearing any route _________________ GO 750 Live HD Traffic, Map Europe 930, Navcore 9.510 |

1st change I have noticed, the Forth Road Bridge in Edinburgh has finally has its toll road status removed! And the Tay bridge in Dundee!
Thats about all I can see that has been changed, the same issues still remain in Newcastle city centre

It didn't do it for my XL Live and I simply couldn't be bothered even trying with the 520 (internal and SD card). It just means I have to set Home location, car cursor and units (Decimal degrees) again and I'm as well off as before (except for recent destinations) because I long ago changed favourites to POIs.
I too got the MapShare unavailable right now - I wondered if I should weep about that? Reminds me to go re-do my local nine again. I see they still haven't deleted the ghost roundabout at 51.45227, -2.41843, which has never existed since 1975 to my personal knowledge! How will Stuart get on with the A350? _________________ Dennis

All downloaded fine here - mapsetings.cfg disappeared as well.
Not bothered about the mapshares - don't use them anyway. |

I downloaded the map OK, but lost my MapSettings.cfg settings.
Having read the advice to 'Operate My device' to avoid this, I promptly forgot the advice and so discovered MapSettings.cfg settings had gone.
I copied my back up file and got endless loop on reboot.
Now, I hooked up my 920 to PC and TomTom Home started.
I chose to Operate My Device, and found my original settings were back. I saved a place as a favourite, disconnected the device and hey presto everything back as should be.
Hope this may be of help to others. _________________ Mick

Andy, if you get chance running from the office to home set it as destination for the "Grain Road" and follow it past Tescos on the main road, do you get a prompt for the turning left off the the A56 or is this an error? - Mike |

All gone okay here too, and mapsettings were lost, but I used the Operate my Go before, then after the update, and then when it was gone, copied over my old mapsettings.cfg, then operated my Go again before I unplugged. All seems fine, favourites kept (though also copied to POI before in case). |
