|
|
Hi all, first post here so hope I'm not asking a stupid question?!
Am certainly going to buy CP8 for use on my much loved G1 in time for a trip from the UK over to France early next month. From all that people have said this is a very sensible thing to do.
However, I am likely to be seduced by one of these new lovely android phones before to long - N1, Milestone or whatever. My question is if the software can be transferred easily, say G1 to N1, when I do make that move?
Cheers

Well my own overnight research has found that some people seem to have been able to do this - and even tranfer a licence from one platform to another:
WM to Android
It seems that once you have a licence number you can do this which sounds great.
Amybody with first hand experience able to confirm this?

I originally bought CP8 for a WM phone but upgraded to an Android phone shortly afterwards. At the time I couldn't find a way to transfer a licence from one platform to the other and ended up buying it again. |

Cheers you guys - I think you must be right and £50.00 on a full Euro map version is way too much considering I'll be moving on to another phone soon enough.
So, sale lost Co Pilot - wake up and listen to your (potential) customers!

With CP6, I was able to switch the license between phones. You deactivate the license on one and then reactivate it on the other. I once had to do this when the old phone died. I phoned ALK's support and they sorted it out.
However, it seems that the Android version is licensed as a separate program to the Windows Mobile CoPilot. I could get a cheaper upgrade to CP8 on Windows Mobile, but not on Android. |
