What would be the "right" settings in TomTom 2 for the road speeds. What I want to know, is the settings in km/h.
Other thing about the gps. If I travel a long distance, and start TomTom and the gps at the new place, it will take a long time before the gps gets its position is fixed.
What is the right thing to do, to get the gps work as fast as possible with TomTom?

I find the default speeds work pretty well in the UK.
If you've moved the GPS a long way, you can give it a helping hand by tapping and holding on your current location (it doesn't have to be entirely exact) on the map, and choosing "Reset GPS for this location" on the menu. If the GPS is able to accept such data, TomTom GPS will send it a 'helping hand'.

Thank you!
This was good information about the TomTom "helping hand".
Are the settings in "preferred speeds" like the max speed on the roads, or a average speed on the roads?

They're the speeds that TomTom assumes you'll drive on the appropriate road categories. If the routing (which is influenced by the ratios between the various figures) and ETAs (which are influenced by the actual speeds) are sensible, leave them alone.
