|
|
After reading the thread on changing the battery on the 720/920 and having already got a replacement battery I decided to have a go. I removed the two torque screws from the back of the until and prized the front black panel off.
There was no way I could move it far enough away to remove the ribbon to get to the 4 torque screws. Has anyone done a replacement for a 930 that could help?.
Many Thanks

There shouldn't be any difference between the 930 and the x20 battery guide as its the same device, there isn't much room to access the ribbon cable connector but with the display part tilted up at an angle it should be possible to gain access to release the cable:

Blimey! TT replacing a 930 for free, you must be pretty persuasive!
Or was it one of the last ones, so is still under guarantee?
(Edited once to fix stupid typo on the model number!))

I had 3 months warranty left on the 930 so decided to let Tom Tom fix the battery problem. I received a box and first class next day bag from them on Tuesday morning, and this morning Thursday received back a brand new 930.
So I would say there is nothing wrong with Tom Toms Customer Services department. Well Done Tom Tom.
