|
|
Genuine question, as I've been out of the loop for a while and am not sure if I've missed anything.
Have the x20 and x30 models been officially sunsetted by TT? There's not been an app upgrade for these models for some time, unless I'm mistaken. The x40 and x50 continue to move on and I'm sure a x60 will probably be along any minute, knowing TT...
My 920T is still going strong and working as well as can be expected. No faults with the unit itself. So I have no complaints, but just wondered whether future map releases will continue to work; in the past they've occasionally required an app update to work but, as I said, the x20 hasn't seen an update for a while. I've still got a while left on my map subscriptions and don't want to find out the next map is useless to me. ;) |

The x20 and x30 models are gone from both the UK and US sites. The 730 is still available on the Canadian site but the 9x models are gone.
Yes, you'll still be able to get map updates for your 920 and I will for my 720 (I better....I have a subscription too! ) _________________ David |

I think that if they want to sell you a new map, and that map won't work on the current software version, then they will make a software version available where it does.
Or they'll create a version of the new map which DOES work.
They'll want to protect their future revenue income from the maps.... |

Very rarely do I connect to TTHome but this morning I did for the first time in about 2-3 months, I was offered and accepted NavCore 8.392 for my Go730. I have not tried it out yet so I have no idea what it has fixed/broken but I needed to first enter a load of height/weight/speed data about my car when booting up. It does look snazzy though.
Looking on TTīs website I can find no mention of this release; it shows versions v8.370 and v8.410. I think during the download TTHome stated that v8.392 was for more or less all versions of Go and XL. But it does look like TTHome may have downloaded it in error. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

I think 8.392 is meant for the Tom Tom Work models. _________________ David |

The cab file name kind of gives it away
8.392.go_work.CAB-navcore-GO-WORK.cab

The sequence of events by which it was offered to me was after I had made another WinExplorer backup of my TT, remove my SDHC card, delete everything from the TT and format my the internal drive, Clear Flash several times and then re-loaded my very first Out-Of-The-Box back up I ever made about 1 year ago (I am secretly waiting for TT to offer me another map under the LMG, but there seem to be no errors in that part of their software!). I connected to TTHome and was offered the v8.392 software upgrade.
I still have not been anywhere to try it out yet though. Iḿ not even sure if my map is new enough to make use of the features it offers. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

Keith/Mike
Would the aforementioned email also allow the navcore to work on a TT720, and if so, any chance of sending it to me?
Thanks
Andy |
