My Tom Tom 930 was working fine but since this month it crashes and needs resetting whenever it asks if i want to connect the tom tom to the computer and I click Yes. I am therefor unable to update my GPS or other settings. This happens on my pc or m Mac. It also has a very strange anomoly that whenever I'm travelling down the M1 and come off onto the M42 southbound the Tom Tom crashes at that location if a route is set. If no route is set it works fine. It only happens at that one spot even on demo mode!! Very, very odd!!
Any suggestions??

Keith

Try all the usual fixes in this order - test after each one

Soft reset (paperclip in the hole underneath)
Run Clear Flash 3 times (HOME completely closed for this)
When connected to the PC with HOME completely closed run a checkdisk
Hard reset (reset to factory settings)
Format as FAT32 (Full Format) and restore your backup

It sounds very much like a corrupted file on there.

Use an older version of Navcore, as latest versions always used to crash for me, but older versions are fine.

I am using 8.302 or something like that...can't remember exactly.

I get exactley the same on the M1, M42 south bound side. Only as you say when a route is set. Odd.

I'm just trying to recreate this... can I presume you mean leaving the M1 southbound at Junction 23A onto the A42?

I can't make any of my machines crash on a demo of that route (v9 software on a Go940 and an XL Live and v8.351 on a Go720, all with v840 maps).

What software and maps are you running?

My 930 is out in the car so will check later.

Yes, drive onto the slip road going south on the M1 to access the A42/M42 towards Birmingham.

Exactley at the same place every time on the over bridge that takes you over the south bound M1, the 930 goes black screen and reboots. It then shows the picture of the 930 with the progress bar, yellow bar, as if it is updating after an update on the computer, and then recalculates the route.

All is well then and it functions as normal.

Forgot to add. I know my 930 currently does have the latest version of both firmware and maps from TomTom.

I have not done the route that causes this oddity since updating which was done a few months ago.
