|
|
I am using a TT 520 connected to an HTC S620 Phone. It has done a paired to the TT and works for making calls but the installation says it does not have the DUN file to set up the GPRS for Traffic from TT. I remember seeing that DUN file was available in one of the forums but cant find it. More to the point I would need some guidance to installing such a file into the phone and as to where it goes. I have a contract sim in the phone on the Vodafone network and have a data package for GPRS. The phone is operating on V6 Windows. Any help that can be supplied by anyone having got this phone to connect to a TT 520 for data would be greatly appreciated. |

Send me an e-mail using the button below this post and I will reply with the DUN CAB file attached, all you need to do is copy the file to the phone using Active Sync then use File Explorer on the phone to find the CAB file and select it to install the Bluetooth DUN profile. Once installed the phone will work for a data connection for the TomTom, before paying for any subscriptions ensure the connection is working by using the Weather service in the Plus options as that's free, if you get Weather working you know the data connection is good so you can pay for the Traffic service etc - Mike |

HI
I have the same problem I have just bought a HTC Hero phone.
Connected to bluetooth but cant get traffic. I am on TMobile with internet
and the phone has wifi & gps. My old phone was a lg viewty and worked perfectly. I have tried the old phone with a basic sim card and that wont connect to the tom tom at all.
Would your file work for me with the new phone.

The HTC Hero is an Android based device rather than Windows Mobile so I am afraid the DUN CAB file isn't of any use to you ate all - Mike |

Thank you for your reply. I thought that would be the case as I seem to remember an old post about the subject.
I will try to get the cheapest internet sim for my old phone as I still have six months left on my HD traffic. Then shall get a transmitter.
Thank you

Consider a PAYG Sim card as the data content used by the GPRS based services is quite small so the charges are low, over a six month period I would expect no more than £20 even if you use it every day. DON'T get an O2 PAYG sim though as these don't work, T-Mobile or Orange will be OK though - Mike |

Thanks for the advice. I shall try the sim from tmobile again as i had the hero connected as well so that may have been the problem. I shall try when I have taken all the snow off the car. _________________ Christine from Essex Grey Surfer but young at heart.

Have now rescued my phone from freezing car. Connected my phone with
sim and it is trying to connect to traffic as I am indoors and hardly any signal I dont think it will succeed. When I tried on Thursday the phone couldnt make a connection perhaps traffic was down for a change. Looks as if it will be ok. Thanks for help.
ps
Hurrah just connected to traffic. Now where can I go sitting on my sofa. _________________ Christine from Essex Grey Surfer but young at heart.

Hi, good evening, sorry to hijack the post, but i'm frantic.
i can't get my TT720 to connect via bluetooth to my HTC Hero.
it goes through the handshaking motions, but fails!
i guess i need to update something in tom tom to tell it what a Hero is,
what file would it be and where do i get that?
any help greatly appreciated,

It takes a while to get bluetooth connection. I just kept trying. Have you made your phone visible on the bluetooth connection menu on the phone
Mine still drops out occasionally.
Lots of patience required. _________________ Christine from Essex Grey Surfer but young at heart.
