When I switched from my 510 to a 530 one of the changes I really liked was that I no longer needed to dock the device to power it or connect it to my PC. I was thinking about getting a new 950 - until I heard that TT had gone back to using a dock for power/comms. Is this correct? What about the 940 - is that the same?
It was a real pain having to find the dock before I could connect my 510. But, with the 530 all I need is a normal USB cable - and I've a few of them around. |

Or you can buy a dedicated cable that connects from the Go to the USB port.

Yeah, but I don't want to have to dig out a separate cable. I'll put up with that for something really good - like the iPod. But it's enough to make me stick with the 530 rather than upgrade. |

My dock sits at the back of my desk and is always plugged in to the PC so it's ready to us. Same with my iPod cable. |

I find the dock far easier and safer than a cable and very rarely use a usb cable direct to the 530. I also find a dock easier to find than a piece of wire.
I used to use a cable direct to my PDA and after a while the strain on the USB socket from the cable damaged it, at least the dock supports the device.
The supplied mount for the x40/x50 also takes a mini usb cable. _________________ Drivelux |
