|

If you are a TomTom Navigator 2 owner and wish to take advantage of the upgrade program to version 3 then TomTom have begun taking registrations. You will need the Navigator Product Codes for every eligible product then proceed to this page to start the process.
TomTom plan to begin shipping upgrades on the 21st of April and delivery is expected to take up to 15 working days. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I wonder if anyone can offer me advise? I went to the tom tom upgrade to navigator 3 site with the intention of upgrading and filled in all the details required. I went as far as the payments page where you need to fill in your credit card details. I noticed that no padlock symbol indicating that the site is secure showed up in my browser. Is this site a secure site?
Best regards,
Derek |

Thank you for the info. I have just followed the link and processed payment. Nice and easy.
Now just have to wait for the product to arrive.

Hmm, I can't bring up their webpage now, I wonder if demand has brought them down? Can anyone else still access any pages at TomTom? _________________ Darren Griffin |

You should ideally see https: in the address bar on the page where you are requested to input your credit card details indicating a secure site. It's poor security but not impossible that they have not implemented a secure webpage for the transaction details, unfortunately I can't check as I've lost access to TomTom's website at time of replying! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Derek,
I noticed that too, see here. I didn’t like it but I went ahead. I shall be keeping a close eye on my credit card balance”

Talk about flaky! :x
I got to the final payment screen before I could enter for my credit card details and it told me that there was an error in the processing.
Next thing I know I receive an email from TomTom:
Dear Mr. XX,
Thank you for shopping at the TomTom Mail-Order store.
Your order has been received and awaiting further processing.
When we receive a confirmation of your payment for this order, we will confirm this to you in a separate e-mail.
Your order number is: 3790XX
If you want to check the status of you order please do not reply to this e-mail.
Instead visit http://support.tomtom.com/uk
Go to My TomTom in the column on the left hand side.
Insert your e-mail address and password.
Choose Orders and you will find a list of the orders you placed in the TomTom mail-order store.
When you double click the order number you can view all details of that order.
Kind Regards,
TomTom Mail-Order department

Order number:
3790XX
Received:
Apr 14 2004 9:47PM
Order overview:
1 x TTN3 S/W upgrade - Great Britain (1C90.061)
1 x TomTom Navigator 3 Upgrade Fee (UPGRADEPREMIUM2-3)
Products to be sent to:
XX

Hemel Hempstead Hertfordshire
United Kingdom
I can't check the status of the order on the website as it hasn't registered a password which I assume comes at the end of the upgrade process.
I'm now stuck as I can't use the product code again.
Any ideas what to do now, anyone? |

Hi Talkingbollox,
You need to register with the support area of TomTom using the same email address that you supplied when you went through the upgrade process. Logon to the support area with that same email address, then you should see the details.

I can access the site OK, I enter my details, but when it then goes to my basket, it shows the price as 169 euros (£112) - anyone else go this problem?. |

Ooops my mistake, I must have registered after the 18th Jan, so I get the upgrade for free (I wasn't expecting that bit!).
Just to clarify for the forum posters above, the site is definately HTTPS, and the padlock symbol appears in the bottom of my browser whilst entering credit card details.
Sorry for any confusion. |

Talkingbollox,
That’s very annoying of the TT website.
I was lucky in the fact that I registered my main email address as an account with the support page of TomTom a few months ago. I used the same email address for the upgrade offer.
It may be that the TT website is getting a lot of hits at the moment.
Have you tried asking for the password for the email address/ID that you registered?
