Community Speed Cameras

In Suffolk local villages have been given speed cameras to monitor local traffic. The registration of any vehicle exceeding the speed limits is recorded. See the following website http://www.suffolkroadsafe.net/suffolksafecam/news.php?article_id=103 I also understand they may have recently been introduced in the west country.

Are there any proposals to include the location of these cameras in the database?

no. we treat them the same as dummy camera location - i.e. we don't include hem in the database.

From the article, the intention would seem to be that police will then definitely monitor particular 'speeding spots' with official mobiles - so would it not be worthwhile treating these semi-official ones as temporary cameras, rather than wait till the 'real' ones are in use - which might be too late (and the police may try to avoid making them look any more official anway)?
