POI Icon Problems & Advice

Hi,

Just a new user and having a few probs with my SatNav (Garmin 1340T).

I have downloaded the POI's from this site ... not all but a fair amount of categories.

Now rather than the icon showing, it's simply showing balck dots for all the POI's. Any ideas ?

I downloaded all the POI's (Seperate Files per Sub-Category), extracted all the files into a single directory on my PC and then used POI loader. Now I had previously loaded POI's to my Garmin, from this site also ... does that have something to do with it.

Final question, is it possible to organise the POI's, into the categories. I simply get ALL Categories or each seperate category such as HSBC ATM's. WOuld be good to have all ATM's in one group.

Received the SatNav on Wednesday (21/10) ... registered and updated evrything that I could.

Hi and welcome to the Forums.

If you are getting black dots instead of icons you have loaded too many POI categories. If you go over 255 POI categories the unit can't display the icons properly.

You should reduce the number of POI categories below 255.

If you didn't use the Separate Files per Sub-Category option this should fix the problem as you'll have less than 255 categories. Doing so will also achieve what you want with regards to getting all the ATMs in one group.
