If anyone has updated to the new CoPilot update on the Android Marketplace (8.0.0.444), can they confirm if the procedure for updating the PGPSW speedcameras is working now?
I have removed the user_places sub folders and added the new files to save directory as before but CP now loads straight to the maps without doing any sort of integration of the data. |

I updated mine. I've only noticed a couple changes. When I pressed the "Work" icon, instead of a confirmation screen with a small green "Go" bar there is now a whacking big "Go" button in the middle of the screen. Also when leaving the motorway, I got a 3D full screen lane guidance display.
I added the PGPSW files yesterday using the tried an tested method and it worked as expected. However I just tried it with the latest CP release and I see the same thing as you. The files remain in the "Save" directory and are not integrated. Looks like they broke it! |

Cheers.
I have reported to their Twitter account and will submit a support ticket soon.
Apparently the update was to fix an issue with ClearTurn instructions for users with Europe maps. Since I only have UK maps then I porbably didn't need it. |

I've e-mail UK support and also raised it on the Facebook page. So hopefully it will get noticed and fixed quick! |

I've had no response at all from ALK, not very encouraging. I'd like to go back to the earlier version but I have no idea if this is possible. |

Odd. I'm running 8.0.0.444 and I updated my safetycams from the latest PGPSW database on 7 October and everything works fine.
About CoPilot Live lists:
Version: 8.0.0.444
Data: GRD_NT.EU-UK-7.2009.01.1.9.1.1
Cities: CTY_NT.EU-UK-7.2009.01.
POI Data:
standard: POI_NT.UE-UK-7.2009.01.1.3.1.8.1
safetycams: safetycams.0.0.0.1
(I always name my camera update 'safetycams') |

I assume you use the single file format? I prefer the consolidated by type option as it allows each type of camera to have a different screen icon.
I just tried using the "single" file database, but the same result; no integration on CoPilot startup. |

Better than me then. I just got told that it must be corrupt maps and to remove everything and start again. |

I haven't tried it in a while, but does this mean that they've fixed the POI icon import bit? |

they've done the same to the iphone version... it imports an .ezp file from a folder called SafetyCameras to add their own database but won't import any poi or speed cam files in the 'save' folder as before. for some reason i didn't try putting the csv files in the SafetyCameras folder... i'll try it later!
iphone is same version number as android so i would assume they will function in the same way?

After a few rounds of ticket tennis with Alk they have finally admited custom POI import is broken in 8.0.0.444 but will be fixed in the next update. Not holding my breath though since they have broken it in Android and iPhone versions. As MaFt said in another post, it certainly looks like it has been removed intentionally. Perhaps if enough of us complain it might make a return. |
