how to follow route help please

Hi, i have just purchased a satmap after years with a garmin, i have managed to get familiar with the unit however could someone please tell me how i start to follow a route i have uploaded to the unit . I can view the route via route page and i can see it on my landranger map, when i go to route menu and tick actvate route do i hen view then press satrt. Any help would be apreciated . Thanks

Hi

Pressing start will only start tracking your current movements. You literally have to go to the area you have downloaded, look for waypoint 1 and then start following the route. You can of course scroll to the area on the active 10 to view or you can view on the route share page where I assume you downloaded the route from.

Thanks for thr reply , i was under the impression that if i was , , lets say a mile from the first waypoint and i parked my car then activate the route ,then view then start and follow the gps compass which would take me to waypoint 1 . I have used garmins previously were i navigate to waypoint then follow the compass pointer . Hope it makes sense what i am after trying to achieve, I just need to make sure i know what i am doing before i set off .
