As per topic title really.

Is the data the LIVE Tomtoms ( 740 ) receive the same data that is displayed on the TomTom route planner ? Online betat version.

Heres why i ask ? yesterday..Monday 7th september the London A13 was SERIOUSLY delayed from Lakeside to beyond Basildon.

My Journey through that section took me an extra 30 mins.....

When i got home i loaded up the On-Line tool and see what it said so that i could advise my wife who could avoid that traffic.

yet the Online tool shows NO DELAY....
Wife gets in 40 mins late...A13 is crippled back to M25 now !!!

your thoughts please

I normally find them both a close match, although either can have outages and faults.

The online planner shows all the HD traffic info across Europe where it exists but the Go only for around 1-150 miles from where you are.

I also find with the online planner when the map first comes up that I have to move the map slightly before the traffic info is first displayed. From then on it is OK.

the accuracy of the information ( or lack of it ) concerns me..

If i had known about the delay i would have taken a back route away from the delay.....Not being able to see the delay on the TomTom has caused me a unessary delay....

In the US, it's generally a very close match, but I have found local incidents or delays in the on-line route planner that don't appear on the 740's traffic screen.
