Hi,
Have been hunting for an answer to this for days now and wondering if anyone can help.
I have an Alpine PMD-B200P Satnav unit (hand held unit that docks with the stereo in my car to give in car satnav too).
I love this unit, but the default camera poi is pretty useless and I'm hoping to use the PGPSW database instead.
I've tried the one from your main "competitor" which works perfectly but only lists fixed cameras and doesn't give warnings of possible mobile positions.
Importing the database on the Alpine unit is really straight forward and is done via a specifically formatted text file. I'm hoping that one of the standard text files available through PGPSW is compatible. But as I'm sure you'll understand I don't want to pay my £20 just to find out that none of them are.
So, if possible I'm hoping someone confirm that one of the txt file format databases on PGPSW matches the below format because if they do, then they'll work with the Alpine unit and I'll happily spend my money to get it.
Code:
X, Y, TYPE, SPEED, DIRTYPE, DIRECTION
-1.9092200,52.5159400,1,30,0,0
-0.2354400,51.3451900,1,30,0,0
0.1680300,51.0614700,1,40,0,0
If anyone can help I'd be extremely grateful and will be paying for the full DB straight away.
The above is the "Garmin POI Loader" .csv version, but there are many other text-types that are similar but with slight differences to the layout. For example I've just noticed there is no "heading" info in that version. I'll just have a hunt for one of the ones that does....
I suppose what I'm trying to say is that *if* there isn't one ready-made to suit your needs, it shouldn't be too difficult to cut and paste one up from something else in Excel or similar to give you the correct columns, which you could then save out as text.
Can confirm this worked first time with no modifications perfectly on the Alpine PMD-B200P have confirmed this by checking multiple locations on the maps where I know cameras are located or used and every single one now shows up correctly (even the mobile ones).
Huge thanks for your help. You may want to arrange for that unit to be listed as compatible with the iGo database, I can provide installation instructions if needed.

Not something I can do personally, but I'm sure the admin will be interested to know!
Forgive me for posting a link to something on one of your rival's sites but it's the easiest way to show the exact process as it's written for the Alpine device in question.
I simply deleted the original files and copied the files from the iGO download I bought from you over to the location mentioned in this and reset the device and it worked perfectly.
Please remove the link once you've viewed it if you aren't happy for it to be there, I'm simply posting it for pure convenience to save writing it all out.
Heh, at least I know the support ticket got through ;) the site was working fine when I posted it, looks like that site is having "issues" at the moment.
Go to their main site (if you can get it to open, seems intermittent at best today). Click on Alpine on the left and then choose "Blackbird 2", the link to the installation instructions is at the bottom.
I can confirm that the link as provided by Antitheft2 worked when it was originally posted. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599
