Right i have a new tomtom 740 works great in the car i can use it on my motorbike, but i do not have sound has any one got any ideas as to how i can get voice instructions to my helmet are there any members out there that have managed to sort this out. Question

Don't use the TT on the bike meself, however, if you do a search using the bikes and TT options you'll find a lot of posts about this.
general consensus seems to be to purchase the Autocom system for good results.
Battery life may be an issue as well, and again people suggest plugging into a power socket.

With the 740 as supplied you don't have access to the audio line-out socket you will have to purchase one of the accessory mounts in order to hard wire the device if you want to use the Line Out, also the line oun audio level is fixed so you might find it a tad loud.

For no wires and a system that will work without needing another mount consider Bluetooth, whatever you get must support A2DP stereo Bluetooth protocol then you can send all the audio to the earpiece using the built in wireless capability - Mike

Thanks I like the idea of using Bluetooth Very Happy

any suggestions as to which headset I could use under my bike helmet that would fit comfortably

Have a look at the BPA100 from alan-uk. A cheap way is the Viper v99 helmets with built in bluetooth. They are a bit on the small side so I had to order the next size up.

One word of warning though, the TomTom can be rather "picky" when it comes to using a Bluetooth connection so if you have the chance to try it BEFORE you purchase I would suggest you do so, just because it says A2DP on the headset doesn't mean the TomTom will be able to use it.

There is a set of third party files that can be added to the TomTom to increase Bluetooth connectivity if you really want to mess around with the device, but before we go down that route please make sure you have a full Windows Explorer backup of the device - Mike
