I recently bought an RDS/TMC receiver for my 720, which works ok in the UK. I am at present in France, and although it worked fine until I got to the docks at Dover, once I was in France the traffic sidebar did not appear, and most of the traffic options are greyed out. I was using an itinerary I had prepared at home, but in case it needed to know I was in France I did a couple of map searches for French addresses - still no joy. I could have done with it yesterday, experiencing horrific traffic jams on the A7.
Is there anything I have to do to make it work?
Robin

In the traffic preferences, you may have told the TT to search only UK RDS stations. Haven't got a TT with RDS-TMC on it to have a look.

I remember one of Tomtoms tips to get RDS-TMC working in the UK was to select 'search only UK radio stations' or some option like that!

The traffic sidebar appears before it even looks for stations, so you have some problem with the TT recognising that the traffic module is present. Perhaps a hard reset would help?

But it was working all the way to Dover!

I agree - if the sidebar is not showing the unit is not recognising the RDS-TMC. Presumably you have tried a soft reset? If that does not work your only other option is the hard job.

I have pressed the reset button for 30 seconds. What else should I try?
