Got a 2150 max with the standard 2gb SD card. Tried to update from Q1 2009 to Q2 2009 (yes I know Q3 are now out!) but got error saying they wouldn't fit onto the card.

Deleted old maps and photo album contents manually, still no joy and same error came up when trying to reload Q1 back on again. I saved a backup but not before I deleted the original maps (via fresh) unfortunately. Subsequently managed to load uk maps only.

Bought an 8GB SDHC card, copied 2gb card contents to it - it runs fine with just the uk maps, and shows up over 7gb of free memory via the Navigon fresh linkup. However when trying to load up the 1.8gb of map updates, it still comes up with "insufficient space" error.

Can anyone help?

Unless you've got a special reason for having Q2 I'd forget about it and any problems it's causing and just go straight for Q3 - at least that seems to be ok now anyway ("New Maps").

If you really are sticking to Q2 then check what the max card size is. I had a feeling that it is 4Gb not 8Gb, in which case Navigon may still be treating it the same as the 2Gb one. And did you update to the recent new software - that uses a lot of exrta space.

Although the Navigon website shows a 2310 with MyRoutes, I can't find an option to update either the 2150max or my 2100max to new software.
Do you know about a forthcoming update for the 21xxmax that isn't on the website yet?

Sadly not - just aware that quite a few units could be updated, but didn't actually check specifics. Now I have and I can't find any 21xx's mentioned in the Products list at all!

I have a 2100 Max unit among my collection of sat navs - I think it was only sold via Halfords, so this may be the reason for the lack of update support

Moved on to the 4350 Max unit now, which is much quicker and the new software is excellent - so worth the move

Pitty they don't seem to offer the 2100 Max updates, as if it came with FreshMaps in the bundle, it may tempt me to update an old unit for a spare

Maybe Navigon Support are worth a phone call to see if one of the other units updates will actually work - after all, the 2100 units have the update available, and the Max version I thought was only "Widescreen"...?

Like you I bought my 2100max from Halfords - think it was £100. I then went on to buy 2 years map updates (which also gave me a bonus of all the Western Europe maps) for £80. Now you can get a 4350max with 2 years maps for the same money! Crying or Very sad
Such is progress. Since I still have a year to go on the maps I am going to hang on for another year - by which time everything will have changed again I expect!
